The evenings are for nonprofit staff and community volunteers deeply involved in wildfire recovery work; and no art experience is necessary, Jericho Road Pasadena said in a news release. Registration is $10, dinner is included, and each session is capped at 15 people.
Three dates are set, with monthly events to follow. Each runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and centers on a different project. September’s, “Connection and Togetherness,” has every participant contribute to a shared journal that goes home as a small piece of everyone in the room. “In Our Feelings,” on Wednesday, Oct. 21, turns to dollmaking. “Getting to Know Your Neighbor,” on Thursday, Nov. 19, uses printmaking and unique pre-made stamps.
The series belongs to a two-year Jericho Road wellness initiative funded through the Community Healing and Restoration Grant Initiative, announced in December 2025 by the Pasadena Community Foundation, the California Community Foundation, the UniHealth Foundation and other funders. The Pasadena foundation has described the frontline staff the program serves as facing secondary trauma and burnout.
The two organizations, partners in art and wellness programming, encourage everyone involved in local wildfire recovery work to sign up and say the event is accessible to all. Sessions may be photographed or recorded.
