The Armory Center for the Arts, a community-focused institution offering contemporary art exhibitions and education programs, has appointed Corinne Dyson as its new Education Coordinator. Established in 1989, the center originated from the education department of the Pasadena Art Museum, which was founded in 1947. After the museum closed in 1974 and became the Norton Simon Museum, the education program was transformed into the Pasadena Art Workshops and later evolved into the Armory Center for the Arts.
Dyson, who studied art and anthropology at Pasadena City College and the University of California, Los Angeles, brings a wealth of experience to their new role. Their background includes positions at esteemed institutions such as the Fowler Museum and the Natural History Museum, as well as involvement in teaching and organizing art enrichment programs in the Pasadena area.
