ArtNight Transforms Pasadena into a Hub of Artistic Expression Tonight

ArtNight Pasadena offers a free evening of art, music and cultural entertainment

On Friday, March 8, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Pasadena will host its biannual ArtNight, a citywide celebration of art, music, and cultural entertainment. 

More than two dozen venues will offer free admission and special programming for the evening, showcasing the city’s rich and diverse artistic and cultural resources.

ArtNight is an ongoing partnership among many cultural institutions and the Cultural Affairs Division of the City of Pasadena. The City urged residents not to miss this opportunity to experience the best of Pasadena’s art and culture scene.

Some of the highlights of ArtNight include:

  • Alkebu-Lan Cultural Center: Celebrate 51 Years of Hip Hop with a DJ, teen hip hop dance performances, capoeira demonstrations, drums, photography, children’s art, and Cakes by Chante.
  • Armory Center for the Arts: See new work by Pasadena artist Terry Chatkupt, get creative in the studio, visit the student exhibition, and enjoy beats by dublab’s Rani de Leon.
  • ArtCenter, HMCT Gallery: Quasi: Experimental Writing Systems presents atypical configurations of signs and symbols inspired by sci-fi, cryptography, technology, language preservation, sound, nature, and communication with the dead.
  • ArtCenter, Williamson Gallery: Advance of the Rear Guard: Ceeje Gallery in the 1960s is a historic Southern California survey exhibition featuring paintings, drawings, and photography.
  • artWORKS Youth Center: Enjoy student performances, art activities, and succulent planting at the new location of artWORKS on Foothill Blvd.
  • City of Pasadena City Hall: Enjoy Lunar New Year festivities at the City Hall Hub with seasonal performances and Year of the Dragon art activities. Treat yourself to a snack from KOGI BBQ, then board a free shuttle to continue your ArtNight journey.
  • Jackie Robinson Community Center: This is an evening celebration of the arts in the Northwest Community, showcasing the talents of artists, students, and staff. Experience live musical performances, art exhibits, fun art activities, and much more.
  • Lineage Performing Arts Center: Dance, live singing, and music will fill the intimate stage of Lineage’s black box theater.
  • MUSE/IQUE at the Pasadena Senior Center: Make Some Noise with MUSE/IQUE at the Pasadena Senior Center. Live music, activities, and refreshments. Artists include The DC6 Singers Collective and Rachel Gonzalez.
  • Norton Simon Museum: Explore the world-renowned collection, with artworks by Raphael, Rembrandt, Vigee-Lebrun, Monet, Van Gogh, and Picasso, as well as South and Southeast Asian sculpture spanning 2,000 years.

ArtNight is a free event that is open to the public. Free shuttles will connect all the participating venues throughout the evening.
