Geoff Baum expressed gratitude to voters late Tuesday night.

Baum is leading in his efforts to return to the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees.

Baum leads Francis Pollara with almost 57% of the vote as of Wednesday morning.

Baum previously served three on the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees and two terms as President of the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.

When I first got involved, community colleges were the most

neglected part of our public education system. This election certainly changed that.

Baum said he was grateful that so many people in Pasadena and La Cañada Flintridge took an interest in the race and spoke up about what they want for PCC. Our students deserve that kind of attention.

“I’m encouraged by the early returns and grateful to everyone who helped, from the volunteers who knocked on doors and made calls to Mayor Victor Gordo, Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Councilmember Steve Madison, and the other local leaders who stood with us,” Baum said.

Baum said he is committed to fighting to make sure students have access to a high-quality, affordable education.

“PCC should be a place where people can earn a degree, transfer to a four-year university, or get the certificate they need for a good job. It should also welcome people who come back to the classroom later in life simply because they want to keep learning,” Baum said. “Every one of them deserves the same attention we’ve given this election and I look forward to serving them and this community.”
