An attorney whose career has spanned three professions — law, real estate and family therapy — has been named partner at Lagerlof, LLP, a Pasadena law firm that traces its history to 1908, according to the firm.

Dena L. Klotz, a member of the firm’s Private Client Group, advises individuals, families, family offices and closely held business owners on wealth planning, trust and estate matters, real estate and long-term asset protection strategies, the firm said in a statement.

She has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1994, according to the firm.

What distinguishes Klotz from many estate planning attorneys is the path she took to get here. Before focusing on private client law, she worked as a licensed realtor in the San Fernando Valley and later earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate University, practicing as a therapist with a focus on conflict resolution within families and couples, according to the firm’s announcement.

“Dena’s appointment reflects the depth of her experience and the care she brings to every client relationship,” said Joshua Driskell, managing partner of Lagerlof, LLP. “She combines technical knowledge with a thoughtful, measured approach that is invaluable in the private client space.”

Klotz earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, according to the firm. Her practice at Lagerlof includes both foundational and sophisticated estate planning, as well as trust administration and guidance through significant life and financial transitions, the firm said.

The firm described Klotz’s background in real estate and therapy as informing her ability to counsel clients through complex personal, financial and intergenerational matters.

“I am honored to be named Partner at Lagerlof,” Klotz said. “It is a privilege to serve our clients and to work alongside such a dedicated and collaborative team.”

“We are proud to recognize her continued leadership within the firm,” Driskell said.

Lagerlof, LLP is located at 155 N. Lake Ave., 11th Floor, in Pasadena.
