A 66-year-old Pasadena man who was riding a bicycle suffered critical injuries, including a skull fracture, in a traffic collision involving a Ford truck on Thursday morning, according to Pasadena police.
The incident occurred at 5:34 a.m. at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Peoria Street, Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau said.
According to Campeau the bicyclist sustained critical head and serious leg injuries and was transported by Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics to a local hospital for treatment.
As of Friday morning, police said the man remains in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford truck, identified as a 59-year-old man from Los Angeles, was uninjured. He was arrested for driving without a license, according to Campeau.
Members of the Pasadena Police Department’s major accident investigation team responded to conduct the investigation.
North Fair Oaks Avenue between Orange Grove Boulevard and Esther Street was closed for approximately one hour but has since reopened, said Campeau.
Police did not release the name of the arrested driver.
