Bishop Briggs to Open 137th Rose Parade with Live Performance

Singer Bishop Briggs, née Sarah Grace McLaughlin, will open the 137th Rose Parade on New Year’s Day with a live performance of her platinum-selling single “River” and her track “Champion,” the Pasadena Tournament of Roses announced Tuesday.

Briggs, whose music blends alternative, pop and electronic styles, will be joined by 24 dancers for the Opening Spectacular, which is presented by Honda.

The Honda float, titled “The Power in Teams,” will anchor the opening sequence. According to the Tournament of Roses, the float is “a celebration of how dreams are most powerful when they are realized together” and “highlights the collective strength of teams,” featuring Honda associates, Honda race car drivers and Team USA athletes. The float’s theme draws from Honda’s global brand slogan, “The Power of Dreams.”
