As the demand for STEAM skills continues to rise, the upcoming Black Education Expo aims to bridge the gap by showcasing educational resources tailored for Black and Brown K-12 students, caregivers, and parents in Southern California.
The free, one-day event, scheduled for Oct. 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center, will feature various educational providers offering resources for students aged 5-18.
Organizers hope to educate, inspire, and inform attendees about educational opportunities, with a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) fields.
The expo will host workshops for teens and parents, covering topics relevant to education and student success. A dedicated Kids Zone will offer activities for younger children.
Exhibitors will include youth-centered organizations, STEAM providers, mental health providers, college information services, entrepreneurship resources, dual enrollment programs, and support for foster youth.
The Black Education Expo aims to celebrate achievements in Black education while fostering collaboration between community partners, nonprofit organizations, and businesses invested in student success.
By offering free admission, organizers ensure that valuable information is accessible to all interested parties, regardless of financial situation.
