On Tuesday, Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena announced the addition of local UCLA Health pediatrician, David Schneider, M.D. to its Board of Directors. Dr. Schneider brings a background in pediatrics, research, and a lifelong commitment to the health and well-being of children and families.

“We’re honored to welcome Dr. Schneider to our Board and look forward to the experience and perspective he brings to the Club. His commitment to our local children and their well-being aligns beautifully with our mission, and we’re excited to have him join us in supporting Pasadena’s youth and families,” said John Clayton, Board Chair.

Dr. David Schneider is a pediatrician with UCLA Health and a Southern California native. Born in Orange and raised in Riverside, Dr. Schneider moved to New York City after high school to train at the School of American Ballet before joining the Pacific Northwest Ballet company in Seattle as a member of the Corps de Ballet. After retiring from professional ballet, he completed his undergraduate studies at Seattle University. Dr. Schneider then worked as a research scientist at the University of Washington, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed his pediatric residency at New York University and subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Prior to joining UCLA Health, he worked as a general pediatrician at a private practice in South Orange County and at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Schneider enjoys caring for children of all ages and building strong relationships with them and their families. His goal is to help parents keep their children healthy and safe while helping kids grow and develop from newborns into thriving and accomplished young adults. Outside of medicine, Dr. Schneider’s interests include the arts, travel, hiking, getting reacquainted with the beaches of Southern California, and spending time with friends and family.

Since 1937, the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena has enriched the lives of young people in our community, enabling them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, healthy, and responsible citizens.
