Pasadena residents will experience a brief cooldown Monday and Tuesday before temperatures climb back toward summer norms later this week, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

Monday’s high will reach only 77 degrees, marking a noticeable drop from recent warmer conditions. The cooling trend continues Tuesday with another 77-degree high before temperatures begin rising Wednesday.

“Temperatures are expected turn cooler today and Tuesday then warm up again mid to late week as high pressure returns,” the weather service said.

The warming pattern emerges Wednesday as high pressure returns to Southern California. Temperatures will jump to 83 degrees Wednesday, then climb steadily to 86 degrees Thursday and 87 degrees Friday.

Monday morning brings patchy fog to the Pasadena area, expected to clear by 11:00 a.m. South-southeast winds of 5 to 10 mph will provide a gentle breeze throughout the day.

Tuesday features similar morning fog conditions with winds shifting to calm before picking up from the southwest around 5 mph during the afternoon. Tuesday night temperatures will dip to 57 degrees.

Next weekend brings ideal Southern California weather to Pasadena. Saturday features sunny skies with a high of 87 degrees. Sunday continues the pleasant pattern with abundant sunshine and a high near 88 degrees.

No rainfall is expected throughout the forecast period. The dry pattern continues as high pressure dominates the region.

Winds generally will remain light at 5 to 10 mph throughout the week. No strong wind events are anticipated.

No weather warnings or advisories are currently in effect for the Pasadena area.
