The Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition will host its Third Annual California Natives Gardens Ride on Saturday, April 12, offering cyclists a unique opportunity to explore sustainable landscaping throughout the city.
The free, family-friendly event begins at 10 a.m. at Playhouse Village Park. Participants will visit private homes in Central, North and East Pasadena featuring native plant landscaping during the 12-13 mile ride.
“It’s all about spring and the beauty of California’s native plants,” said the coalition in its announcement.
The route includes 300-400 feet of elevation gain and will proceed at a “social pace” of approximately 10 mph. Children able to ride without training wheels are welcome, and organizers promise no riders will be left behind.
A mechanic will accompany the group, and electric bikes are permitted. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen and lunch for an optional picnic.
Registration is required through EventBrite, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/
All riders must sign a waiver upon arrival.
