The Pasadena Tournament of Roses announced Friday that Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling artist Capital Cities and Nashville-based pop country trio DEK of Hearts, winner of NBC’s “The Voice” Mic Drop competition, will be featured in the grand finale of the 137th Rose Parade presented by Honda on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.
The finale will close with Capital Cities performing “Safe And Sound,” the group’s multi-platinum hit that topped charts in 18 countries and earned MTV Video Music Award and Grammy nominations. They will be joined by DEK of Hearts, who secured their Rose Parade appearance through fan voting on “The Voice.”
According to the Tournament of Roses press release, the performance will include 24 dancers spanning styles from flappers to hip-hop, set against a convoy of era-spanning classic cars. Organizers said the finale will culminate in a confetti-drenched celebration of joy and nostalgia.
The partnership with “The Voice” added a new layer of fan participation. Coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire each selected one standout artist during the Knockout rounds. Viewers then voted among the four Mic Drop finalists, with DEK of Hearts earning the most votes and the Rose Parade stage spot.
The 2026 parade carries the theme “The Magic in Teamwork” and will precede the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential.
The Tournament of Roses, a volunteer organization, oversees the parade and accompanying events. The Association’s 935 Members supply more than 80,000 volunteer hours, which will drive the success of the 137th Rose Parade.
