The weather will take a cooler turn this week, forecasters said, adding that the previously expected rainfall won’t occur.
The National Weather Service reported highs near 70 degrees Monday under sunny skies. Winds will shift from northeast to southwest during the afternoon, with overnight lows around 46.
Tuesday will be slightly cooler, with highs near 68. Clouds will increase Tuesday night, with patchy fog possible after 10:00 p.m. Lows will fall to about 45.
Wednesday will be the coolest day of the week, with highs near 60 under mostly sunny skies. Winds will remain light, shifting southeast during the day.
Forecasters said rain chances for midweek have been removed, as the storm track remains east of Southern California. Another weak to moderate Santa Ana wind event is expected Thursday.
Temperatures will rebound into the upper 60s Thursday and remain steady through the weekend. Sunny skies are forecast Friday through Sunday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s and lows in the mid-40s.
Looking ahead, forecasters expect a ridge over the eastern Pacific to keep storms away from California into the following week. Temperatures are projected to run 3 to 6 degrees above normal through mid-December.
