The Vallejo Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church in Glendale has launched a weekly “Laundry Love” event to assist victims of the Eaton Fire in Altadena. Running every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Fair Oaks Laundry in Pasadena, the program allows affected families to do up to six regular loads of laundry for free.
“Lose Your Home In the Eaton Fire? We’ll help you do up to 6 Regular Loads for FREE!” reads the promotional material for the initiative.
The service, which began in February, provides all necessary supplies including funds, soap, and dryer sheets for participants. Pre-registration through Eventbrite is required to participate, and registrants must be victims of the Eaton Fire and reside in the zip codes 91001, 91003, or 91104 to qualify for the assistance.
Located at 1344 Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, the weekly event is fully sponsored and staffed by church members.
The initiative is ongoing, with upcoming dates including April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14, and May 21, 2025.
The church has established a following of 15 people on the Eventbrite platform, which notes the program has “lots of repeat customers.”
