City officials have issued strict guidelines prohibiting parade viewers from spray painting grass or placing chairs to reserve prime Rose Parade viewing locations.
The Pasadena city government, through its @PasadenaGov account on X, addressed concerns about premature attempts to claim viewing spaces along the parade route.
“We get that you’re all excited for the Rose Parade next week, but remember that you are not allowed to spray paint the grass or put down chairs/rope to reserve your seat. The holidays just passed, no need to wind up on the naughty list for next year,” City officials posted on Pasadena’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
“No space can [be] reserved or occupied until noon on December 31,” the City stated.”
According to City regulations, all people and property must remain on the curb until 11:00 p.m. on December 31, with overnight camping permitted only on New Year’s Eve.
Municipal authorities have prohibited tents, sofas, and boxes that could serve as seating arrangements along the parade route, and unoccupied chairs are not allowed and will be removed.
The regulations forbid the selling of spaces along the route, with strict enforcement of rules regarding unauthorized seating placement.
After 11:00 p.m. on December 31, parade spectators may advance their positions to the designated blue “Honor Line” marked on the street.
