If you are interested in volunteering to help with the annual homeless count in 2025, now is the time to sign up. The survey will take place on the evening of July 22, 2025, and the morning of January 23, 2025.

The count, also known as the Point-in-Time Count, is required for Pasadena by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, in order to receive annual federal Continuum of Care Program funding. The count is typically taken during the last ten days of January.

The annual homeless count informs the state of homelessness in Pasadena, helps advocate for vital community resources, and engages directly with our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

The data will be used by the City and nonprofits involved in serving the unhoused to understand the extent of homelessness and the changes in trends among specific sub-populations, to identify local priorities that should be considered in making resource allocation decisions, and to help in the planning and development of more effective services and resources.

Volunteers will be sent in teams of 3-4 to an assigned zone to help count and administer a survey to people experiencing homelessness in Pasadena.

Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and be prepared to attend a virtual orientation on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025.

The deadline to register to be a volunteer is Sunday, January 5, 2025. All volunteers can sign up at PasadenaPartnership.org.
