The Pasadena Environmental Advisory Commission will meet Tuesday to discuss new energy requirements for single-family residential construction, a move expected to have an impact on future home building in the city.
The meeting, scheduled for April 8 at 6:00 p.m., will feature a presentation by Jesse De Anda, City Building Official from the Planning & Community Development department.
De Anda will provide commissioners with details on the current energy requirements for new home construction, which may include updates to energy efficiency standards, renewable energy requirements, or other sustainability measures.
In addition to the energy requirements review, the commission will vote to appoint representatives to two committees: the Resilience Rebuild Ad Hoc Committee and the Preservation & Natural Areas Committee. Both positions are currently vacant, according to the meeting agenda.
The commission will also review minutes from their previous meeting held on March 11, 2024.
The commission oversees a diverse range of environmental initiatives through eleven specialized subcommittees.
Members of the public who wish to attend can join the meeting at the Hale Building, 175 North Garfield Avenue in Pasadena. The agenda includes time for public comments on matters not listed on the agenda.
The agenda and related materials are available on the city’s website at:
