After being forced to temporarily close during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Assistance League of Pasadena’s Craft Fair Gift Shop is reopening at 11 a.m. Sept 16.
Located at 820 E. California Blvd. in Pasadena, the store carries one-of-a-kind handmade items that are carefully crafted by men and women over the age of 50 who have many years of experience in creating beautiful keepsakes for others.
Seniors benefit from the sale of their items by receiving the majority of the sales proceeds each month. Along with supplementing their income, the gift shop offers many seniors the opportunity for social engagement, which is more important than ever in these trying times.
The Assistance League’s senior philanthropy, the Craft Fair Gift Shop has operated as a consignment shop for handmade items since 1955.
One of the missions of the Craft Fair Gift Shop is to keep the skill of handcrafting alive. Baby clothes, toys, jewelry, kitchen linens, baby dolls, floral wreaths, paintings, holiday decor, and other gifts can all be seen when the store reopens.
On the reopening, Assistance League staff and volunteers have worked to put social distancing and health protocols in place for the safety of its customers.
The Craft Fair Gift Shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
