Cooler-than-normal temperatures and lingering clouds will continue over Pasadena through the weekend, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
Forecasters said Thursday that highs will remain in the low 80s through Friday, with gradual warming expected by Sunday. The cooling trend follows weeks of above-normal heat across the region.
Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and a high near 81 degrees. Winds will be light, shifting south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Overnight lows will fall to about 59 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
Friday will bring morning clouds with gradual clearing by midday. Highs will reach near 82 degrees, with calm winds turning southwest. Friday night will be mostly clear, with lows around 59 degrees.
Temperatures will begin to rise over the weekend. Saturday will be sunny with highs near 85 degrees, followed by 88 degrees Sunday. Saturday night may see patchy fog after 11:00 p.m.
Rain chances remain minimal. While forecasters noted a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms Thursday afternoon, the environment is expected to dry out heading into the weekend.
Winds in Pasadena will stay light, generally from the southwest at 5 mph. Stronger gusts are expected in foothill and interior areas, but no advisories are in effect locally.
Looking ahead, forecasters expect the marine layer to shrink early next week as high pressure builds. Temperatures will rise to near normal, with highs around 90 to 91 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday under sunny skies.
