David Sams, co-founder of First Tee – Greater Pasadena and former Director of Golf Operations for the Rose Bowl Operating Company, was honored by the California Golf Course Owners Association with “THE GOOD OF THE GAME AWARD.”
The award recognizes Sams’s years of volunteer service to golf-related causes and his professional approach to his work.
Sams has been involved with First Tee of Greater Pasadena for many years and currently serves as a consultant for the Rose Bowl Operating Company.
First Tee – Greater Pasadena is a nonprofit youth development organization. Through its golf-based personal growth programs, First Tee helps oversee kids build life and leadership skills that empower them in all areas of life, including school, friendships, and eventually careers.
Sams was recognized for developing program material that effectively and concisely communicates the mission, purpose, and cause of the organization. His efforts have encouraged others to support the cause, which is seen as good and imperative to the future of the game.
The California Golf Course Owners Association (CGCOA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the interests of golf course owners and operators in California.
The “THE GOOD OF THE GAME AWARD” is an annual award given by the CGCOA to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the game of golf in California.
