The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) said it will start a bridge maintenance project on the Colorado Boulevard bridge in Old Pasadena that spans Route 710, between St. John Ave. and Pasadena Ave. beginning on September 5 and lasting about 30 days, weather permitting.
Work will take place from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
The project will involve the replacement of concrete slabs and the installation of new joint seals on the bridge structure. During the course of the work, parking will be prohibited on the bridge and one lane will be closed in each direction. Travelers should expect delays and intermittent lane closures during the designated work hours.
Caltrans is encouraging motorists to seek alternative routes whenever possible, especially during peak commute hours, to avoid potential congestion and disruptions to their travel plans.
