Rep. Judy Chu announced her endorsement of Justin Jones for reelection to the City Council, praising his leadership on environmental issues, infrastructure and neighborhood quality-of-life concerns.
Chu said Jones has shown a collaborative and conscientious approach during his time on the Council and has been a dedicated representative for Pasadena residents.
“I’m happy to endorse Councilmember Justin Jones for his reelection to the Pasadena City Council,” Chu said. “Justin has demonstrated a conscientious and collaborative approach to leadership on the Council. He has been a dedicated and thoughtful representative for the residents of Pasadena and a strong leader on environmental issues, clean energy, and the quality-of-life concerns that matter to our communities.”
Chu also pointed to federal funding she helped secure for projects in Jones’ District, including improvements to Sunset Reservoir and upgrades to the Jackie Robinson Community Center.
Jones said he was honored to receive the endorsement and stressed the importance of cooperation between local and federal leaders.
“I’m honored to receive Congressmember Chu’s endorsement,” Jones said. “She has been a tremendous advocate for Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, helping bring federal resources to strengthen our infrastructure and invest in our neighborhoods. I look forward to continuing to work with her to deliver results for Pasadena residents.”
Jones represents Pasadena’s District 3 on the City Council and currently serves as chair of the Council’s Municipal Services Committee, which oversees City infrastructure departments including Pasadena Water and Power, Public Works and the Department of Transportation.
A fifth-generation Pasadena resident whose family has lived in the City for more than 130 years, Jones works as a civil engineer with Los Angeles County Public Works, focusing on water supply, infrastructure and environmental projects. He has been married to his wife, Natalya Romo Jones, for nearly a decade.
