On Monday, April 8, a collaborative “Connect Day” event aimed at providing essential services and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the All Saints Church campus, bringing together Union Station Homeless Services, All Saints Peace and Justice Ministries, and other service providers within Service Planning Area 3 (SPA 3).
Connect Day has been a significant initiative in Pasadena, historically serving as a vital platform for the unhoused population to access a wide range of services crucial for their well-being and potential transition to stable housing.
This year’s event will offer government assistance, mobile showers, food and drinks, outreach services, veteran services, and employment resources.
“We have everything from health and wellness services to obtaining communication necessities here today,” said Anne Miskey, CEO of Union Station Homeless Services, during a similar event held in June 2023.
While Connect Day provides a concentrated burst of services and resources, Union Station Homeless Services emphasizes that their support extends beyond the one-day event. The organization offers daily care, health kits, and community agency connections to those in need.
The event underscores the community’s commitment to supporting its most vulnerable members and highlights the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders in tackling the complex issue of homelessness. Through initiatives like Connect Day, Pasadena continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating a supportive environment where every individual has the opportunity to rebuild their lives and achieve stability.
