A construction worker in his 50s was seriously injured Monday morning after falling about 15 feet at a job site near Wilson Avenue and Villa Street, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.
Fire crews responded to the intersection of East Villa Street and North Wilson Avenue on Feb. 9 at about 11:30 a.m.
Firefighters extricated the worker and transported him to a local hospital with critical injuries, the department said
City of Pasadena Chief Communications Officer Lisa Derderian said the patient “was extricated from the site via our ladder truck utilizing a rope system affixed to a basket. The patient sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local trauma center”
The cause of the fall remains under investigation and has not been disclosed.
The worker’s current medical condition was not released.
Pasadena has experienced several serious construction falls in past years, including a 2014 fatal 15-foot fall at Colorado Boulevard and El Molino Avenue and a 2020 fatal 40-foot fall at the 10 West Walnut project.
