A deepening marine layer will keep Pasadena cooler than normal through the weekend, with highs in the mid-70s before gradual warming begins Monday, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles said Friday that morning clouds and patchy fog will linger into the afternoons, holding temperatures several degrees below seasonal averages. Highs will reach 83 degrees Friday before dropping to 75 degrees Saturday and 74 degrees Sunday. Overnight lows will remain in the mid-50s.
Forecasters said the cooling trend is driven by strong onshore flow and upper-level low pressure systems. The marine layer will persist each night, expanding inland and slowing afternoon clearing. Winds will stay light in Pasadena, generally 5 to 10 mph, though stronger gusts are expected in interior valleys.
Monday will bring modest warming, with highs near 77 degrees under sunny skies. Temperatures will dip again Tuesday to 75 degrees before climbing to 79 degrees on Thursday. No rain is forecast during the period.
The weekend outlook calls for mostly cloudy mornings and mild afternoons, with cooler conditions for outdoor events across Pasadena. Residents should expect gray skies early each day, followed by gradual clearing.
No advisories are in effect for Pasadena. Forecasters recommend light layers for mornings and evenings as temperatures fall into the mid-50s overnight.
Looking ahead, the marine layer pattern continues into next week, though gradual warming is expected late in the period as upper-level troughing weakens.
