Cottage Co-op Nursery School, Parenting Expert Promote the Importance of Play

Cottage Co-op Nursery School is proud to extend to the community its acclaimed parent-education program by presenting April 20, 2016, an evening with New York Times best-selling parenting expert Dr. Tina Payne Bryson.

Bryson will speak on the topic of “The Yes Brain and the Importance of Play,” covering topics to be explored in her next book, The Yes Brain, which focuses on the current research showing play is essential for optimal development in children. She will show play reduces stress and offers social, psychological, and cognitive benefits and should be restored in American schools and homes, where too many teachers and parents are replacing it with structured activities, lessons and practices.

Bryson’s appearance is a fund-raiser for Cottage Co-op Nursery, founded in 1972 as a nonprofit, preschool in which teachers and parents embrace child-directed, creative play that nurtures social and emotional development in an intimate community setting.

Cottage Parent Talk Series proudly presents Dr. Tina Payne Bryson on “The Yes Brain and the Importance of Play” will take place Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Pasadena City College’s Vosloh Forum, located in building UU 180, on South Bonnie Avenue between East Colorado Boulevard and East Del Mar Boulevard in Pasadena, Calif.
