The Pasadena City Council voted to approve a $108,000 contract for marketing and public relations services to attract more investments in Pasadena.
The contract term is for one year but can be extended to up to two additional one-year periods.
Awarded to Echo Factory, the contract specifically aims to help the City’s Economic Development Division “strengthen its relationship with targeted local, regional, and national audiences.”
The division, which is part of the City Manager’s Department, is responsible for encouraging business investment opportunities and supporting business retention and attraction services in Pasadena.
“The City must effectively communicate and market a consistent message to elevate Pasadena’s profile and clearly convert its value proposition to diverse holders, including private industries, local businesses, and community partners,” stated the Department of the City Manager’s report to the City Council.
As per the City’s staff report, the Economic Development Division’s future promotional efforts will focus on priority groups outlined in its five-year Strategic Plan, such as deep tech, cultural and entertainment sectors, and small businesses.
With Echo Factory’s help, the Economic Development Division is expected to have “refreshed” marketing materials that will effectively promote Pasadena’s assets.
As per City staff’s report, Echo Factory has 15 years of experience providing marketing and public relations services for tech, aerospace and engineering companies.
It has previously led marketing campaigns for the American Immigration Lawyers Association Pasadena chapter, as well as Huntington Health and Motiv Space Systems, which are both located in Pasadena.
The funding for the contract will be sourced from the General Fund.
