The City Council’s summer break continues.
The council will not meet for the next two weeks.
According to the City’s schedule, the City Council will reconvene on Aug. 18.
A public hearing is scheduled for the approval of the substantial amendment to the 2021 and 2024 annual Action Plans for the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership Act Funds.
The amendment includes an increase to the city’s Home Investment Partnership Act allocation via the American Rescue Plan Act and a reallocation of funds. The public hearing is a step in the process to formally adopt these changes.
The program provides funding to local governments for community development and housing activities.
The plans outline how the city intends to use the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership Act funds each year.
The amendment signifies a significant change to the approved plans, requiring public review and a public hearing and includes an increase to the city’s Home Investment Partnership Act allocation through the American Rescue Plan Act, specifically for rental assistance and security enhancements at the Robinson Recreation Center.
The amendment also involves shifting funds between different projects or activities within the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership Act programs.
The public hearing provides an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to comment on the proposed changes before they are adopted by the City Council.
