Per state law, local elections coincide with state elections this year in an effort to increase voter turnout. The change removed local control in Pasadena elections.
The City Clerk will not be conducting a vote count at City Hall. Pasadena Now will be updating vote totals throughout the night.
According to a spokesperson with the LA County Registrar’s office, the first votes should start coming in before 8:30 p.m.
Mike Sanchez told Pasadena Now that all vote by mail ballots received before Election Day will be reported at approximately 8:15 p.m.
Votes from early in-person voting centers during the 10-day early voting period will be reported at approximately 8:30-8:45 p.m.
All in-person ballots on Election Day, will be reported on a continuous basis until all ballots are received between 9 p.m. on March 3 and 5 a.m. on March 4.
