Tim Reed set a new men’s half marathon course record, finishing the 13.1-mile route in 1:08:07. The previous record of 1:09:22 was set in 2023 by Jonathan Martin. Team TMF fundraisers generated more than $117,000 and counting for The McCourt Foundation, the most ever raised by Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K runners.
Women’s half marathon champion Sophia Carcamo finished in 1:19:04. In the 5K division, Timothy Lam won the men’s race in 16:32, and Ingrid Walters led the women’s field in 19:47.
The McCourt Foundation said the fundraising total represents nearly a 20% increase over last year, with donations continuing after the event. Since 1992, the foundation has donated more than $7.2 million to neurological research and generated more than $76 million through its Charity Program. Team TMF charity runners received a guaranteed entry, VIP perks and a personal fundraising page, according to the foundation.
“As we celebrate a decade of this amazing race, we’re reflecting on 10 years of bringing the global running community together in Pasadena while raising funds to support our mission of advancing neurological research,” Brian McCourt, the foundation’s president and board chairman, said in the statement. “This legendary stadium and the storied streets of this historic town are the perfect backdrop for athletic excellence and everyday goals alike. On top of the achievements of these participants, we mark the impact of TMF and reinforce our commitment to creating exceptional events with a greater purpose.”
Runners participated in three distances — the half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K (3.1 miles) and a kids run (½ km) — all starting and ending at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium. Participants followed a scenic tour of Pasadena, passing historic streets and landmarks including the Colorado Street Bridge, Old Town Pasadena and Caltech before finishing on the 50-yard line inside the stadium.
Finishers received 10th-anniversary medals featuring the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium façade and a stemmed rose. The medals were designed by Badges & Medals, the race’s official medal supplier.
The McCourt Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization with offices in Boston and Los Angeles, hosts the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K as part of its broader slate of events supporting neurological disease research, educational programming and community wellness
