Don’t Let the Lockdown Stop You From Visting the Library (Online)

Students can find homework research, parents dig up entertainment and reading material for their children

Pasadena Public Library has opened up additional online resources so Pasadena residents and library customers who are staying at home can stay connected to various information that are necessary for them to continue to live life as close to normal as possible.

At a time when customers are not able to check out print materials, hundreds of audiobooks, eBooks, music, movies and TV shows, digital comics, graphic novels, and digital magazines are available for free download through www.cityofpasadena.net/library/ebooks-and-audiobooks, a statement from the Pasadena Public Library said.

Some of the services may require a Pasadena Public Library card, and a PIN number on the library account which usually is the last four digits of your phone number. If you don’t have a library card, you can visit www.cityofpasadena.net/library/library-cards to get yours.

Students who may have lots of homework or research to do can check out a comprehensive list of electronic research and enrichment resources by visiting www.cityofpasadena.libguides.com/Databases/SAH-Tools. Additional resources for students are available on the Kids and Teens blogs at www.pasadena-library.net.

If you’re a parent looking for something to keep your little ones entertained and engaged, the Library has assembled an online Figerplay Collection featuring staffers performing fingerplays, movements, songs and rhymes to share with your child. You can check this out through www.pasadena-library.net/kids/fingerplay-ppl. The collection includes fingerplays in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Tagalog.

If you haven’t filed your taxes yet, don’t worry, as both the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) have postponed the tax filing deadline to July 15.
