A dryer fire at a South Parkwood Avenue duplex displaced six residents Monday morning.

Pasadena Fire Department crews were dispatched at 11:01 a.m. to 72 S. Parkwood Ave. for a reported appliance fire, according to City of Pasadena Chief Communications Officer Lisa Derderian.

According to Derderian, arriving firefighters found a well-involved dryer fire extending into the eaves. The washer and dryer were located under a patio cover that sustained heavy fire damage,

Derderian said the property includes three residential units — the involved rear duplex and a single unit at the front — and all required inspection by a City Inspector.

Pasadena Water and Power and the Gas Company were requested to the scene.

A total of five adults and one child were displaced but did not require Red Cross assistance because they had family in the area, Derderian said.

No injuries were reported.
