Eric Dane to Receive ALS Network’s Advocate of the Year Award at Pasadena Gala

The actor will be honored for his leadership and advocacy at a January event supporting ALS care and research

The ALS Network will honor actor Eric Dane with its Advocate of the Year Award at the Champions for Cures and Care gala on Saturday, Jan. 24 in Pasadena, recognizing his leadership and advocacy for people affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The ALS Network announced the award on Sept. 23 as part of its upcoming gala, which raises awareness and funds to advance the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS. The event will bring together families, leaders and supporters to celebrate progress and strengthen the fight against the disease.

Dane, who is living with ALS, has courageously shared his personal journey to raise awareness and inspire action. He has used his public platform to spotlight the realities of ALS and advocate for expanded care, research and community support.

“Eric has transformed personal challenges into powerful advocacy,” said Sheri Strahl, MPH, MBA, president and CEO of the ALS Network. “The ALS community is stronger, more visible and more hopeful because of him.”

“Facing ALS myself, I know the challenges are real and relentless,” Dane said in a statement released with the announcement. “I share this recognition with every person living with ALS, caregiver and advocate fighting alongside me.”
