First United Methodist Church: ALS Walk for Hajime Miyasaka – October 14

Hajime Miyasaka, one of  First United Methodist Church’ former Youth members, is now a 19 year-old Young Adult. As he enters into his 2nd year of his diagnosis of ALS (Amiotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease), Friends of Hajime (our Youth) wants to show support for their friend and invite the entire church family to join in a solidarity walk around the Rose Bowl in honor of Hajime.

Location: Rose Bowl, Meet by the Aquatic Center
Gathering: 3:00 p.m., Walk: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Wear red or blue (Symbolic colors for the ALS Disease)

The Walk is a 5K (3.1 mile) loop

A suggested donation of $5 per walker will be sent to the ALS Guardian Angels in support of Hajime Miyasaka.
