Five Beavers Earn Baseball Academic-All District Honors

For the third consecutive year, College Sports Communicators named five Caltech baseball student-athletes to the 2025 Division III Academic All-District list.

Jacob Alderete (Murrieta, Calif. / Murrieta Mesa), Brendan Flaherty (Narragansett, R.I. / Lake Forest Academy), Mark Hu (San Jose, Calif. / The Harker School),
Thorsen Kristufek (McKinney, Texas / McKinney) and Joseph Pieper (Palatine, Ill. Palatine) received the accolades. Each player qualified for a spot on the prestigious list by maintaining a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale while also competing in a required number of games during the collegiate baseball season.

Kristufek has been named to the Academic All-District list in three consecutive seasons, while the other recipients are first-time honorees.

Kristufek and Hu achieved the academic recognition while also ranking first and second (respectively) on the Beavers in RBIs. Flaherty was the Beavers’ ace on the mound this season, with the best ERA of any Caltech pitcher.
