The Madison Heights Neighborhood Association has announced five Grand Marshals for its upcoming traditional Fourth of July Parade and Block Party, honoring locals who have been longtime residents of Madison Heights.
The parade, known for its festive, neighborly spirit, will begin at 11 a.m. on July 4 at the intersection of Euclid Ave and Fillmore. It concludes at Euclid Ave and Glenarm, where the block party will be held.
This year’s Grand Marshals include Ab Davis, Janet Davis, Paula Rao, Karen Potts Reynolds, and Johnny Risk. The neighborhood association encourages residents who have lived in Madison Heights for 50 years or more to participate as Grand Marshals in the festivities.
Following the parade, an alfresco lunch is planned where attendees can socialize with their neighbors. The Pie ‘N Burger food truck will be on-site, and attendees are also welcome to bring their own picnic baskets.
In addition to the luncheon, the block party will feature games, crafts, music, and complimentary ice cream for the children.
The nonprofit Madison Heights Neighborhood Association is organizing the event. The association actively engages in local issues such as development, crime, traffic, and tree preservation.
The events are open to the public.
