Foothill Unity Center Awarded Grant by Local Initiatives Support Corporation

Foothill Unity has been awarded a grant by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation.

“Foothill Unity Center is grateful for the support and partnership of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation or (LISC),” according to a statement released last week.“For over forty-two years, Foothill Unity Center has helped individuals and families in San Gabriel Valley move out of poverty to reach economic stability.”

 LISC works with local governments, large corporations, community development organizations and other nonprofits to revitalize neighborhoods and nurture economic growth and opportunity. They have been chosen to assist the State of California in implementing the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

 Foothill Unity Center will provide local, on-the-ground and in-language support to help clients who applied to the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program.

“Whether it’s helping non-English speakers, those without access to the internet, or applicants who face other challenges, the combined knowledge and experience of the LISC and Foothill Unity Center will allow us to provide one-on-one support to qualified applicants as they move through the program,” the group said in its statement.
