The National Weather Service in Los Angeles said Tuesday’s high will reach 98 degrees under sunny skies. Winds will be light, shifting west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph by late morning. Overnight lows will fall to 68 degrees.
Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week, with a high near 104 degrees and heat index values as high as 111. Winds will remain light, turning southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Thursday will stay hot, with highs near 98 degrees and lows around 66.
Forecasters said temperatures will drop sharply Friday, with highs near 89 degrees. That pattern will hold through the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 89 degrees each day. Overnight lows will remain in the low 60s.
No rain is expected in Pasadena this week, though isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop over the San Gabriel Mountains. Winds in Pasadena will stay light, unlike stronger gusts forecast in coastal and mountain areas.
An excessive heat warning remains in effect through Thursday evening. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor activity between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
The extended forecast shows stable conditions into next week, with highs near 89 degrees.
