Five Acres announced today that Rebecca Haussling has joined the organization as Communications Director. Previously, Haussling served as Co-Publisher of Pasadena Magazine.

In her new position at Five Acres, Haussling is responsible for managing external and internal communications, including branding, marketing, public relations and public affairs for Five Acres. Working closely with the senior leadership team, she will develop and implement communications strategies to increase awareness and enhance Five Acres’ positioning among key constituencies and the general public.

Since launching the Pasadena Magazine in September 2007, Haussling served as a tireless advocate for Pasadena businesses and local charitable causes. She also founded the first-ever Innovation Summit Pasadena in October 2013, with the purpose of helping shine a spotlight on and create a sense of fellowship and shared mission among the growing technology and entrepreneurial community in Pasadena.
In 2010, Rebecca was honored as a Woman of Excellence by the YWCA. This honor recognizes women who bring positive change to their community.
Raised in western New York and southern Connecticut she has a degree in English Literature from the State University of New York. She recently completed her Masters in Organizational Leadership at Woodbury University, and lives in Altadena with her husband Nick and two-year-old son, Quinn.
Five Acres is a leading nonprofit organization providing successful solutions that ensure safety, well-being and permanent family homes for children and families in crisis throughout Southern California. Programs and services provided to more than 7,000 children and families each year includes residential care, education, mental health services, foster care, adoptions and domestic violence prevention programs.
The organization’s annual gala, Voices for Five Acres, will be held on Saturday, May 17, in Pasadena. The event will honor Michelle LeClair and Tena Clark for their joint dedication to meeting the needs of children and families in crisis. Tickets are $250 per person. Cocktail reception begins at 6 pm, with dinner and program at 7:30 pm, on Saturday, May 17, at The Trinity Ballroom, 778 South Rosemead Boulevard, in Pasadena.
