Four cost segregation experts from Pasadena-based KBKG, which provides turnkey tax services and solutions, have been appointed to the board of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (ASCSP), the organization announced Tuesday.
Eddie Price, a principal at KBKG, was elected as the new president of ASCSP.
The American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals is a professional organization that sets standards and guidelines for the cost segregation industry. ASCSP provides ongoing education and certification for its members and serves as a liaison between the industry and lawmakers.
Three other KBKG principals are joining Price on the ASCSP board: Lester Cook, who serves as the secretary of ASCSP; Malik Javed, who chairs the Technical Standards Committee; and Winston Shurtz, who was elected as a director of the board for the first time.
Price’s two-year term started on Aug. 1.
“I’m honored to have been elected president of such a well-respected organization, and equally proud of KBKG’s presence on the board,” Price said in a statement. “For years, KBKG has been looked upon as a leader in our industry and having so many of our experts represented shows how hard we have worked to get to this point.”
Price has over 40 years of experience in cost segregation and tax consulting. He joined ASCSP in 2008 and received his designation as a Certified Cost Segregation Professional (CCSP) in 2011. He is based out of KBKG’s Dallas office, overseeing the South region.
Cook has been an ASCSP member since 2008 and earned his CSSP designation in 2015. He is a past member of the Testing Committee and is serving his second term as the ASCSP secretary. Cook works at KBKG’s Chicago office and leads the Midwest region.
Javed became an ASCSP member in 2008 as well and earned his CCSP designation in 2012. He has also been on the ASCSP Board of Directors for four years. Currently, he is the national leader of KBKG’s Cost Segregation consulting practice.
Shurtz is a Senior Manager in KBKG’s Cost Segregation practice. He has been with the ASCSP since 2019, the same year he earned his designation. He has also served on ASCSP’s Conference Committee for two years. Shutz is based out of KBKG’s Atlanta office and has more than 12 years’ experience in cost segregation.
KBKG’s main office is in Pasadena. The company has a number of other offices throughout the U.S.
