A fundraiser for children in Gaza is set to take place on June 29 at All Saints Church, 132 North Euclid Avenue. The event, which will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Learning Center, will support KinderUSA’s work addressing the urgent needs of Palestinian children.

Attendees will partake of mezze, music, and a presentation on KinderUSA’s efforts to alleviate famine, hunger, and educational challenges faced by Gaza’s children.

The organization provides humanitarian assistance to children in the West Bank, Gaza, and Lebanon, as well as other crisis-affected areas.

Two notable speakers will headline the event: Laila Al-Marayati, KinderUSA’s chairperson and Medical Director of Los Angeles Community Clinic, and Riad Abdelkarim, a founder of KinderUSA with extensive volunteer experience in Gaza.

Al-Marayati, also an assistant professor at USC’s Keck School of Medicine, has a history of activism in the American Muslim community. She has served on various national committees, including a presidential appointment to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Abdelkarim, an internal medicine physician, has volunteered with infants, children, and teens in Gaza for over 30 years. His experience provides firsthand insight into the region’s ongoing humanitarian challenges.

KinderUSA focuses on improving lives through development and emergency relief efforts. The organization’s work in Gaza can be further explored at https://www.kinderusa.org/our-work/gaza/.

Tickets for the fundraiser are priced at $25, with additional opportunities for tax-deductible donations during the event. These contributions will directly support KinderUSA’s mission to address critical needs of children in Gaza.

The fundraiser is co-sponsored by Women’s Community and Middle East Ministry. Interested individuals can register online or contact Randall Heyn-Lamb at rheynlamb@gmail.com for more information.
