Get Ready For a Temperature Jump

City shakes off cool spell as warming trend begins Wednesday

Published on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 | 6:45 am

Pasadena will experience a dramatic temperature swing this week. Wednesday will bring nearly 10-degree warmer conditions after Tuesday’s below-normal coolness, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Tuesday’s high will reach only 77 degrees. That’s 4 to 8 degrees cooler than typical for late June. Morning clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine. Light southeast winds will shift southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

The warming trend accelerates Wednesday when temperatures jump to 82 degrees. Patchy morning fog is expected. Thursday continues the climb to 84 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Weekend conditions look ideal. Saturday will bring sunny skies and a high of 86 degrees. Sunday will be even warmer, reaching 88 degrees. Both days promise abundant sunshine with light winds.

The warming pattern reflects the departure of a lingering low pressure trough. The trough has kept the region cooler than normal. Weak high pressure will build in from Wednesday onward. Temperatures will climb back toward seasonal averages and slightly above.

No precipitation is expected throughout the forecast period. Clear to mostly sunny skies will dominate once morning marine layer clouds dissipate each day.

Winds will remain calm throughout the week. Most days will feature light breezes of 5 mph or less.

Pasadena’s inland location means residents will experience the full warming effect. Temperatures will rise more dramatically than coastal areas still influenced by marine layer cooling. Morning commuters should expect patchy fog before 11:00 a.m. through Thursday. This is particularly true in lower-lying areas near the Arroyo Seco.

No weather advisories are in effect.

The extended outlook shows temperatures holding steady in the upper 80s early next week. Monday is forecast to reach 87 degrees under continued sunny skies. Meteorologists are monitoring a possible deeper trough that could bring a cooling trend the following week.
