Goldstein Shooting: Woman Arrested in Addition to Man and Boy

Police arrested a 20-year-old woman in connection with the shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead Tuesday in Pasadena, police said.

In addition to the 17-year-old boy that was taken into custody Wednesday, 23-year-old Raymond Ramirez was arrested and booked for attempted murder then released pending further investigation, said Pasadena police Lt. Tracey Ibarra.

Ruby Conchas, 20, was arrested Thursday “for accessory after the fact,” Ibarra said. All three suspects are Pasadena residents

The shooting victim, Zane Goldstein, was shot about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Chester and Maple Streets, police said.

Goldstein died from his injuries Thursday.

Officers responded to the scene after Goldstein’s brother called police to say his brother had been shot. Goldstein was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he later died, Ibarra
said.

Police reported the arrests were orchestrated by Lead Detective Ara Bzidigian, Pasadena Police Homicide/Assault and Robbery investigators, and members of the Southwest Regional Pacific Fugitive Taskforce and the West San Gabriel Valley Anti-Crime Taskforce.

“Violent crimes, like this senseless shooting, will not be tolerated,” Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez said. “The Pasadena Police Department is committed to pursuing predators who act with such reckless disregard for others.”

“I am hopeful the arrest of suspects will bring some level of satisfaction to the victim’s family,” Sanchez said.
