A free, family-friendly health fair and community walk aimed at raising awareness for liver disease prevention will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, in Pasadena at Victory Park.

Hosted by Pasadena Liver Health in partnership with local medical organizations, the “Health Fair & Walk for Your Liver” will feature free non-invasive liver screenings, multilingual health education, and a group walk to promote wellness and unity. The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon, with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. at 2575 Paloma St.

Participants can receive onsite FibroScan testing — a painless liver health screening — by fasting for three hours prior. Expert speakers will offer educational sessions and Q&A in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Armenian.

The event will also include refreshments, music, and community booths. Organizers expect strong visuals, including live screening demonstrations, multilingual interviews, and families walking together.

Edward Mena, a recent LA Times Award recipient (May) and medical director of the Pasadena Liver Health Center, will be available for interviews, along with Michel Mendler, a hepatologist and community health advocate. Pasadena city officials and local residents are also expected to participate.

Registration is available at p2p.onecause.com/pasadenahealthfair-walk.

Mena, who oversees half of California’s liver-related medical cases, has led the Pasadena Liver Center since 2003 and collaborates with Cedars-Sinai and Keck Medicine of USC to expand outpatient care for liver cancer and transplant patients.
