Pasadena residents are under a heat advisory beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday as forecasters warn of rising temperatures through midweek. The National Weather Service said highs will reach the low 90s Tuesday and Wednesday, climbing to 93 degrees Thursday.
The advisory, issued for inland Los Angeles County including Pasadena, comes as forecasters expect temperatures to run 3 to 5 degrees above normal. Officials urged residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 91 degrees and light southwest winds around 5 mph. Overnight lows will fall to about 63 degrees under mostly clear skies.
Wednesday will bring similar conditions, with highs near 91 degrees and calm winds shifting southwest in the afternoon. Thursday is expected to be the hottest day, with highs reaching 93 degrees.
Forecasters said temperatures will ease slightly Friday, with highs near 90 degrees. The weekend will be mostly sunny, with highs around 88 degrees Saturday. By Sunday, monsoonal moisture could bring partly sunny skies and a slight chance of showers, continuing into Monday.
The National Weather Service said the advisory will remain in effect through Wednesday, warning that prolonged exposure to heat may increase the risk of heat-related illness.
