
Pasadena residents will see a brief heat wave peak Wednesday with highs near 91 degrees before cooler weather arrives later in the week, forecasters said.
The highest regional heat will bypass Pasadena this week, according to reports.
The National Weather Service reported Tuesday morning that patchy fog and low clouds cleared to reveal sunny skies, with temperatures reaching 89 degrees. Winds remained light, shifting south-southwest at about 5 mph.
Forecasters said Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week, with highs near 91 degrees and calm to light winds. Thursday will cool slightly to 87 degrees, followed by a more noticeable drop Friday when highs reach 82 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to trend downward through the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s. Saturday is forecast at 79 degrees, while Sunday will be slightly cooler at 77 degrees. Overnight lows will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s.
Winds will stay light throughout the week, generally calm in the mornings and shifting south-southwest at 5 mph in the afternoons. No strong gusts are expected locally.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of Los Angeles County, including Pasadena, due to above-normal temperatures and higher humidity. An Air Quality Alert also remains in place, urging sensitive groups to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours.
Looking ahead, forecasters said highs will remain steady in the upper 70s early next week, with mostly sunny skies and occasional morning clouds.
