Heavy Rain to Continue Soaking Pasadena Through Weekend, Forecasters Say

Published on Friday, January 2, 2026 | 5:59 am

A Pacific storm system will bring widespread rain to Pasadena beginning Friday night and continuing through the weekend, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

Forecasters said rain will spread across the region late Friday, with showers intensifying Saturday and Sunday. Pasadena could receive 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, with heavier amounts in foothill areas.

Friday’s high is expected near 66 degrees with increasing clouds. Rain is likely after 10:00 p.m., with an 80 percent chance of precipitation and a low around 54 degrees.

Saturday will bring steady rain and a high near 61 degrees. Showers will continue Saturday night, with lows around 52 degrees. Rain remains likely Sunday, with highs near 59 degrees.

Southerly winds will accompany the storm, generally light in Pasadena at 5 mph. Stronger gusts are forecast in mountain and coastal areas north of Point Conception.

The National Weather Service said rainfall rates could reach half an inch per hour, raising concerns for localized flooding and debris flows in foothill neighborhoods.

Another storm system is expected early next week, bringing a chance of showers Monday and Tuesday. Highs will remain near 60 degrees, with overnight lows in the mid-40s.
