Pasadena’s Latino restaurant community will be able to receive critical support through a microgrant program initiated by the Latino Restaurant Association and SoCalGas.

The program aims to provide financial assistance to eligible restaurants throughout Los Angeles County, promoting equitable economic growth within the sector.

Through August 13, Latino, Latina, and AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) restaurant owners in the county whose establishments have been in business for more than three years and generate less than $1 million in annual revenue can apply for microgrants of up to $2,500. SoCalGas is funding the microgrants, which will be available to eligible restaurants upon approval.

“We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity that could drive growth and success for your Los Angeles County restaurant: a microgrant designed to support Latino and AAPI Owned restaurants,” the Association said on its Facebook page. “Many thanks to @SocalGas for supporting this program.”

Restaurant owners who meet the requirements should submit their application quickly.

“Don’t miss this chance to take your restaurant to the next level,” the LRA said. “We look forward to receiving your application and helping you achieve the culinary success you deserve!”

Applicants must submit essential documents, including a W9 form, the official photo ID of the restaurant owner, annual reports or taxes for the last three years, and the current SoCal Gas commercial bill.

The program requires applicants to provide a summary of how they intend to use the funds, demonstrating how investments in kitchen equipment, technology upgrades, employee training, and bonuses will positively impact their business and the local community.

Applicants are also expected to outline their plans for the sustainable utilization of the funds within their establishments.

The LRA said program applicants will be notified of the outcome on Sept. 8.

To apply, restaurant owners can visit the official LRA website at https://latinorestaurantassociation.org/Helping-Latinos-Thrive and click on the “Apply Here” button.

The Latino Restaurant Association helps its members by promoting networking opportunities, brand marketing, and innovative strategies to make their restaurants more efficient and profitable. It also strives to create an inclusive platform that fosters collaboration and support among its members.
