The 2024 Roses Parade will necessitate significant road closures and detours throughout Pasadena, detailed by City officials in an updated map just released.
Colorado Boulevard will be closed to motor vehicles earlier than in previous years to accommodate the parade setup.
Road closures will commence on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 10:00 p.m. and will continue until the conclusion of the parade clean-up, with the route reopening by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2024 officials said.
The map indicates several north/south crossings along Colorado Boulevard that will remain open for traffic until 1:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day and will then be restricted to emergency vehicles only until 6:00 AM. The crossings at Sierra Madre Boulevard will be treated differently, with southbound lanes closing at 10:00 p.m. on December 31 and northbound lanes remaining open until 6:00 a.m. on January 1.
Additional details for parade attendees and residents include simplified detour information to facilitate travel in and around the downtown area.
