A high-speed chase involving a white Dodge Charger ended abruptly in the early hours of the morning, with the suspect still at large, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Tim Bundy.
At approximately 1:58 a.m., Pasadena officers patrolling the area of Washington Boulevard and Hill Avenue spotted a parked newer model Dodge Charger. The vehicle pulled away from the curb and merged into traffic, straddling and swerving between lanes.
Officers initiated a traffic stop, Bundy said, but the Charger accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle turned west on Washington and then south on Lake Avenue, maintaining its high speed.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle, which they believe may have entered the 210 freeway from Lake Avenue. The pursuit was subsequently discontinued.
No description of the driver was available, and no license plate was seen. The investigation is ongoing.
